Box Score

(Keene, NH) In the last regular season game before the CCC tournament, Endicott sophomore, Chris Serrano, pitched 8 strong innings en route to his 1st victory of the season.

Chris was staked to an early 3-0 lead when Endicott put up three runs in the top of the first. Dustin Aiguier led off the game with a double to center and Brendan Tiani reached on a throwing error by the shortstop. Matt Bishop brought home Aiguier with a sharp single to left. With two outs Gary Palmieri extended his hitting streak to five games with an infield single up the third base line. Jon Trowt then picked two RBI with a sharp single up the middle.

Serrano got through a shaky first and stranded two Keene State runners. From there he took over. He pitched one-run ball through the next seven innings striking out nine Owls.

Endicott got a little cushion in the seventh when Peter Norke doubled home Matt Bishop all the way from first after he singled. That run made it 4-1. Three KSC miscues and two Endicott hits in the top of the ninth made it 6-1. Brendan Tiani singled with one out and was balked to second. Norke reached on a fielding error by the third baseman and took second on a delayed steal. Vidmosko reached on a fielding error by the second baseman and Tiani scored. Pat Vincent pinch hit for Palmieri and lined a single down the right field line scoring Norke. Vidmosko was running on the pitch and was thrown out at home: 9-4-2 on a very close play.

Serrano started the ninth but gave way to Ian Parkinson after a walk and a double put runners at second and third. A two base throwing error by Thompson Booth at third scored both runners on Parkinson's first batter. Parkinson got the first out with a strike out and then allowed a single to put runners on the corners. He got the second out with another strikeout and then was lifted for Greg Allain to face Keene's \#3 and best hitter. Allain got the job done with a ground ball out to third to end the game.

Endicott improves to 21-18 and awaits the tournament pairings to be announced later tonight. The tournament consists of top eight teams divided into 2 4-team double elimination brackets. Seeds \#1, 4, 5 & 8 are in one bracket and seeds \#2, 3, 6 & 7 are in the other. The two bracket winners play each other in a one game championship final on Sunday, May 2.
