(Milton, MA) In the first game of a double-header, Endicott downed Curry College 5-3. After leaving four runners on in the first two innings, Endicott broke the ice for three in the third. Dave Babiarz started the inning with a single up the middle. He stole second with one out and Greg Allain singled too sharply to center to score him. With runners at 1st and 3rd, Kevin Donahue started the scoring with a single to right. Pat Vincent then doubled to right-center to plate 2 more including Donahue all the way from first.
Matt Bishop pitched very well for Endicott, earning his first win of the season. He allow single runs in the 5th, 6th and 7th; all unearned. He finished with 7 innings pitched, four hits, one walk and six strike outs. The EC defense committed an uncharacteristic four errors: one in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh.
Heading into the seventh, Endicott was up 3-2. But Curry's defense broke down allowing two unearned insurance runs for the Gulls. With two out, Mike Lucas and Allain singled. Kevin Donahue reached on a fielding error at short to load the bases. Endicott then scored on a balk and a wild pitch to make the lead a little more comfortable.
Endicott finished the game with eight hits including two apiece from Lucas and Allain and a triple from Brendan Tiani. The win moved Endicott to 8-9 and dropped Curry to 7-4.
