Box Score

(Beverly, MA) The combination of Western New England pitching, hitting and Endicott miscues led to a 9-1 win for the Golden Bears over the Gulls.

WNEC starter, Dave Gwozdz, limited Endicott to just four hits in eight innings of work while striking eight and walking none. He allowed one run in the first on a Dustin Aiguier double and a Jason Newham infield single. He mininimized the damage by inducing Greg Allain into a run-scoring 6-4-3 double play. Gwozdz would not allow another base runner until Matt Bishop singled in the seventh.

The Bears banged out 10 hits, collected six walks and used five Endicott errors to put up nine runs; only two of which were earned. The win improves Western New England to 21-9 and drops Endicott to 18-17.

The Gulls are in action tomorrow against Suffolk University at 6:00pm at Morelli Field at Melrose (MA) High School. The game was originally scheduled for 4:00pm.
