(Port Charlotte, FL) Endicott hitters took advantage of two doubles and two Marian errors to score three times in the top of the first inning. After Jason Newham and Mike Lucas reached on infield errors, Greg Allain and Steve Vidmosko each doubled to produce the early lead.
In his first college start, Endicott pitcher, Jason Carter held the lead until the third inning when Marian tied the score. In the fourth Carter allowed the first two runners to reach and gave way to reliever Ian Parkinson. Marian went on to put up five in the fourth and take an 8-3 lead. Chris Serrano took over and pitched a scoreless fifth but had trouble in the sixth allowing 5 more runs. Derek Gartner pitched the seventh and allowed one run.
Endicott scored two in the bottom of the fifth to make it 8-5, but that's as close as the Gulls could get. Mike Lucas finished the game 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBI. Each of the Gulls seven other hits came from a different hitter. Endicott's record falls to 2-4 with four games remaining at the Port Charlotte Invitational.
