(New London, NH) Gloucester's Jack Brancaleone spun a gem in the night cap of the double header with Colby-Sawyer, allowing the Gulls to salvage a split. He improved his ERA to 2.32 and picked up his second win.
Endicott got on top right away when Dave Babiarz singled and Greg Allain doubled him in with two outs in the top of the first. There was no more scoring by either side until Endicott got its second run in the fourth. Abraham Bellini got his second hit of the day with a double to left. He went all the way to third with smart base running on the play when the left fielder missed the cut off man. Mark Vaughan scored him with a sharp single to center field.
The Gulls stretched it to 4-0 in the fifth when Mike Lucas and Greg Allain each scored on a Kevin Donahue single through the left side. Endicott finished with 10 hits; 4 from Allain.
That was more than enough for Brancaleone. The fast worker threw scoreless ball through six complete scattering four hits and allowing just two men to reach second. He allowed one run on three hits in the seventh and was helped out by a 5-4-3 double play.
The win improves Endicott to 14-12, 8-4 in the CCC and drop Colby Sawyer to 6-12, 4-4 in the CCC.
