BEVERLY, Mass. — The third-seeded Endicott women's tennis team defeated sixth-seeded Suffolk, 4-0, in the first round of the Conference of New England (CNE) Women's Tennis Tournament on Tuesday afternoon at the South Campus Courts.
The hosts took the opening point after a clean sweep in doubles action.
No. 1 Lejla Guster (Wethersfield, Conn.) / Ripley Uyeda (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) and No. 3 Samantha Hartmann (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.) / Emily Leclerc (Manchester, N.H.) each took 6-0 victories to clinch the point.
Meanwhile, the pairing of Olivia Martinelli (Coral Springs, Fla.) and Caroline Sutliffe (Duxbury, Mass.) secured the sweep with a 5-0 triumph at No. 2.
Endicott continued its winning ways in singles play as No. 5 Martinelli (6-0, 6-0), No. 6 Amber Woods (Scarborough, Maine) (6-0, 6-1), and No. 4 Sutliffe (6-0, 6-0) completed the victory to advance to the semifinal round on Thursday afternoon.

- Today's match was played to the decision due to CNE Tournament rules.

- Endicott went 25-11 (.694) in CNE singles play and 14-4 (.778) in CNE doubles flights in the regular season.
