LEXINGTON, Mass. — The Endicott women's tennis team defeated Suffolk, 7-0, in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Saturday night at the Lexington Tennis Club.
Endicott swept doubles to earn the first point of the match.
Yolanda Mendonca (Albany, N.Y.) / Sofia Montoya (Wenham, Mass.) started things off at the No. 3 flight with a 6-2 victory.
Ashley Klauck (Magnolia, Texas) / Amber Woods (Scarborough, Maine) followed with a 6-4 decision at No. 2, while Ana Mar Molina (Sachse, Texas) / Abbey Fleming (Wolfeboro, N.H.) completed the sweep at No. 1, 6-3.
In singles, Molina pushed the Gulls ahead 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at the No. 3 slot.
Woods quickly made it 3-0 on the scoreboard with a decisive 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2, and Fleming clinched the match at No. 4, via a 6-3, 6-1 score.
The remaining singles victories included Caroline Sutliffe (Duxbury, Mass.) at No. 1 (7-6 (1-0), 6-1), Klauck at No. 5 (6-2, 6-4), and Mendonca at No. 6 (6-1, 6-1).
