WORCESTER, Mass. — The Endicott women's tennis team fell to NCAA Division I Holy Cross, 4-3, on Friday afternoon.
In doubles play, the Gulls were victorious at all three spots to clinch the doubles point for the match. At No. 1 Lejla Guster (Wethersfield, Conn.) and. Ripley Uyeda (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) won a hard fought match 7-6 (10-4), while Samantha Hartmann (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J.) and Emily Leclerc (Manchester, N.H.) secured a 6-3 victory. Olivia Martinelli (Coral Springs, Fla.) and Caroline Sutliffe (Duxbury, Mass.) matched No. 2 with a 6-3 victory as well.
The Crusaders were able to pick up four singles victories at No. 1, No. 2, No. 5, and No. 6 to secure the victory.
Uyeda picked up the Gulls second point of the match with a convincing 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles. The next Gulls point came at No. 4 singles as Sutliffe secured a comeback victory, 1-6, 6-3, 10-7.
