Women’s Tennis Falls At Springfield, 5-2

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Endicott women's tennis team fell to Springfield, 5-2, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at the Appleton Tennis Courts.

The hosts took the opening point after taking two out of three doubles flights. 

The Endicott top pairing of Ripley Uyeda (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) and Lejla Guster (Wethersfield, Conn.) managed a 6-2 victory. 

In singles, Caroline Sutliffe (Duxbury, Mass.) captured a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 3, while Amber Woods (Scarborough, Maine) provided a 6-4, 3-6, 4-10 win at the No. 5 spot. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Pride picked up their first victory of the 2024-25 campaign. 
  • The duo of Uyeda/Guster soared to a perfect 3-0 this fall. 
  • Woods moved to 4-3 in singles action, including her first win in the No. 5 slot this season. 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (5-6, 4-2 CNE) participates in the New England Women's Invitational Tennis Tournament (NEWITT) on Friday, October 11. Springfield (0-1) hosts the Springfield Invitational on Saturday, October 12.
