Endicott blanks Anna Maria in regular season finale

PAXTON, Mass. – Endicott College closed out the regular season with a 6-0 blanking of Anna Maria College on Tuesday afternoon in Paxton, Mass. The shutout victory, which improved the Gulls to 14-4 overall and 12-1 in conference play, is the ninth-straight for Endicott and improves its scoreless streak to 810:00.

Endicott got on the board first in the 5th minute on senior \#Allyson Bellemore\#'s (Manchester, N.H.) goal assisted by Junior \#Kayla Corbett\# (Danvers,Mass.).

Endicott took a 2-0 advantage in the 33rd minute, on a sharp \#Colleen Pepin\# (Fairhaven, Mass.) shot from the 15-yard line that sailed just past the outstretched arms of goaltender Tabitha Ruggeri (Sturbridge, Mass.).

The score remained 2-0 as the game headed into halftime. The first half was dictated by Endicott's dominance, leading in shots 23-1 and corner kicks, 4-0. Ruggeri's 11 saves during the Endicott onslaught kept the AMCATS close in the opening 45:00 minutes of play.

The second half was all Endicott, as the Gulls scored four more unanswered goals to push the final score to 6-0. Bellemore and Pepin each added their 2nd goal of the contest, while \#Kayla Plante\# (Sanford, Maine.) and \#Vanessa Caruccio\# (Winthop, Mass.) also added tally's for the Gulls. Pepin also added an assist to her strong day, while \#Karyn Plante\# (Sanford, Maine.) assisted Kayla on the fourth goal of the contest.

Ruggeri was peppered all evening, as the Gulls outshot the AMCATS by a 49-2 margin. Facing constant pressure, Ruggeri finished the game with 20 saves, trying her best to deflect away the multiple scoring opportunities Endicott presented.

Endicott, which secured the No. 1 overall seed in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament, will return to action on Saturday when the Gulls host quarterfinal play in Beverly, Mass. Check back to www.ecgulls.com for the playoff pairings as they are announced later in the week.
