NEWPORT, R.I. – Sophomore \#Colleen Pepin\# (Fairhaven, Mass.) scored a pair of goals and graduate student \#Amy Meuse\# (Saugus, Mass.) recorded 10 saves to lead Endicott College to a 4-0 win over Salve Regina University in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) women’s soccer action Wednesday afternoon at Reynolds Field.
Freshman \#Christine Silva\# (Stoneham, Mass.) added a goal and an assist for the Gulls (8-4-0, 7-1-0 TCCC), who improved to 16-0-1 lifetime against the Seahawks. Senior goalkeeper Katie Vaudrain (Pawtucket, R.I.) made four saves for the Seahawks (7-5-0, 4-3-0 TCCC), who suffered their third-straight loss.
Pepin opened the scoring at 6:15 when she lofted a shot from the left side of the box over Vaudrain and into the top right corner of the net. The Gulls stretched the lead to 2-0 when \#Caitlin Flynn\# (Southold, N.Y.) sent a cross pass from the right side of the field that junior \#Karyn Plante\# (Sanford, Maine) drove into the net for her second goal of the season at 18:08.
Just over 10 minutes later, Pepin potted her second of the game off a feed from Silva to increase the Endicott to 3-0 at 29:18. Silva’s second goal of the season at 56:18 from the left side of the box closed the scoring and gave Endicott its third-straight win.
The Seahawks outshot the Gulls 16-15 and held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks. Freshman Kaitlyn Birrell (Hope, R.I.) posted a team-high four shots on goal for Salve Regina.
Salve Regina returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Milton, Mass. for a 1:30 contest with Curry. Endicott returns to ‘The Ocean State’ on Saturday to play Roger Williams at 1:00 p.m.
