BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott College continued to add to its consecutive minutes scoreless streak as the Gulls blanked Colby-Sawyer, 2-0, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women’s soccer action on Saturday night in Beverly, Mass. Endicott has now posted eight-straight shutouts (720:00 minutes), which is the second longest active scoreless streak in the nation behind Cabrini’s current stretch of 812:00.

A slow moving first half saw a total of just six shots and no goals in the opening 45-minutes of play. Charger goalkeeper Allie Piper (Barre, Vt.) stopped the best chance of the frame when Endicott’s \#Karyn Plante\# (Sanford, Maine) made two defenders miss and put a low shot on the CSC net. Piper moved to her left to make the save, sending the game into the intermission gridlocked at 0-0.

Endicott’s \#Christine Silva\# (Stoneham, Mass.) broke the scoreless tie in the 48th minute with an improbable game-winner. Silva put a bad angle, 35-yard shot on goal from the near corner that caught Piper sleeping. The shot, which came from just off goal line extended, somehow found its way through the box and into the lower-right corner for the 1-0 Endicott lead.

Senior \#Caitlin Flynn\# (Southold, N.Y.) put home a dazzling insurance goal in the 70th minute to put the game out of reach. Flynn dribbled through three defenders, positioning herself in the middle of the box for an uncontested shot into the bottom-right corner. The 2-0 lead proved insurmountable as Endicott held its opponent scoreless for an eighth-straight time.

Endicott held a 12-6 advantage in shots and a 7-1 edge in corner opportunities. Piper finished the night with three saves, while \#Amy Meuse\# (Saugus, Mass.) made four stops in the win.

Endicott honored its seniors with the annual Senior Day tradition. All the seniors on the roster, even those lost for the season due to injury, started the game for the Blue and Green. Substitutions were made after the opening whistle to remove those unable to compete due to pre-existing injuries.

Endicott (13-4, 11-1 TCCC) wraps up its regular season on Tuesday when the Gulls travel to Paxton, Mass. to square-off with Anna Maria College at 4:00 p.m. Colby-Sawyer looks to rebound on the same day when the Chargers host Nichols College at 3:30 p.m.
