Box Score

BEVERLY, Mass. – In a game that saw a 45-minute delay due to a thunder storm, the Endicott College women’s soccer team won its second consecutive game as the Gulls defeated Regis College, 10-0, on a rain-soaked Saturday afternoon in Beverly, Mass. Six different Endicott players scored to improve the Gulls to 2-3 (1-0 TCCC) this year while the Pride dropped to 0-2 (0-1 TCCC). Sophomore \#Colleen Pepin\# (Fairhaven, Mass.) led the way for Endicott as she netted three goals in the contest.

Endicott jumped out to an early 2-0 lead as \#Kayla Corbett\# (Danvers, Mass.) assisted on goals by Pepin and \#Kayla Plante\# (Sanford, Maine) in the first nine minutes of action. Plante would add her second of the game nearly nine minutes later followed by a strong rain and some thunder settling in near the end of the first half, prompting a rain delay with five minutes to go in the period. Coming out of the delay, the Gulls cushioned their lead to 4-0 before the break as \#Vanessa Caruccio\# (Winthrop, Mass.) took a pass from \#Katy Hasek\# (Burlington, Mass.) and buried it in the net with one second to play in the half.

The second half was more of the same for Endicott as the Gulls added six goals in the frame. Pepin would sandwich a pair of goals around \#Sarah Johnson’s\# (Harrisville, R.I.) first tally of the year, completing her hat-trick on a pass from \#Allyson Bellemore\# (Manchester, N.H.). \#Katy Hasek\# added her first two goals of 2009 in the half while \#Sarah Fletcher\# (Chelmsford, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for Endicott.

\#Elise Berry\# (Londonderry, N.H.) picked up her first career win for the Gulls by making one save on four shots. Regis’ Bethany Frye (Adams, Mass.) suffered the setback despite making 14 saves on 41 shots in the loss.

Endicott returns to action on Tuesday when the Gulls go back into non-conference play in a matchup with North Shore neighbor Salem State College at 4:00 p.m. in Beverly, Mass. The Pride continues the search for their first win of 2009 when they travel to Brookline, Mass. for a game against Newbury College at 3:30 p.m.
