Six Gulls Earn All-TCCC Honors

Oct. 27, 2007

SPRINGFIELD, MA - Six Gulls earned All-Conference honors as announced by The Commonwealth Coast Conference Commissioner Gregg Kaye on Saturday Morning.

Sophomore Caitlin Flynn (Southold, NY/Mattituck) joined seniors Margreta Weber (Bedford, NH/Manchester) and Sarah Miller (Nashua, NH/Bishop Guertin) as All-TCCC First Team selections. Flynn finished the regular season with 12 goals and four assists for 28 points. Her 12 goals led the team and placed her second in the conference behind Player of the Year Ashley Hansbury (Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford) of Curry College.

Weber, a senior captain, was selected to the fourth All-Conference team of her career after an impressive senior season in which she shared the conference lead in assists with six during the regular season. She also scored four goals, including two game winners for the Blue and Green. Miller was named to her first All-TCCC team after anchoring an EC defense that allowed just eight goals in the regular season en route to being named the top seed in the conference tournament.

The 2005 and 2006 conference Player of the Year Paula McGinn (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical) was picked as a Second Team All-TCCC selection at forward. McGinn scored five goals and added two assists for the Gulls in her senior season after recovering from a knee injury she suffered last fall.

Senior Ashley Clark (E. Kingston, NH/Pentucket) and sophomore Kellie Lajoie (York, ME/York) were named All-TCCC Honorable Mention after helping the Gulls to an impressive 13-5 overall record and an 11-2 conference record. Clark finished the regular season with five goals and four assists for 14 points, while Lajoie switched positions from defense to midfield to become the team's second leading scorer with six goals and three assists for 14 points and a pair of game winners.

The Gulls six All-Conference selections were second behind only Roger Williams seven selections but the Hawks did not have a player on the First-Team. The Gulls topped UNE in the first round of The Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament and advance to the semifinals. The top-seeded Gulls hold home field advantage throughout the playoffs and will host cross town rival Gordon College Wednesday. That game is tentatively scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.

The Blue and Green are in search of their fifth straight TCCC Championship having won four straight starting in the 2003 season. Endicott has won six of the last eight conference titles since joining the league in 1999 and the Gulls have advanced to the tournament finals in all but one of those eight seasons.
