MILTON, MA - Ashley Hansbury (Chelmsford, MA) scored the game's lone goal in the 24th minute and teammate Danielle Denham (Framingham, MA) made 22 saves as Curry College defeated Endicott College, 1-0, on Saturday evening in Milton, MA.
The Gulls were dominant in almost every facet of the game. Endicott out shot Curry 32-13, including 16-6 over the final 45:00 minutes of action. The difference maker proved to the Denham, who backstopped the Colonels with a 12 save first half to preserve the 1-0 lead going into the intermission.
Endicott had several opportunities in the second frame but failed to convert. Paula McGinn (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical) led the offensive charge for the Blue and Green, taking a total of 10 shots on the night. Erica Hunt (Colchester, VT/Colchester) and Caitlin Flynn (Southold, NY/Mattituck) were also denied on each of their five scoring attempts.
With the loss, Endicott falls to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. Curry College improves to 7-4 (4-3 TCCC). The Gulls look to rebound on Wednesday as they travel to Biddeford, ME to square-off with the Nor'easters of the University of New England at 6:30 PM.
