BEVERLY, MA - It has been a whirlwind of a first season for head coach Kate Mullen, who has led Endicott College to its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance after winning its first Commonwealth Coast Conference title. The Gulls will square off with Colorado College Wednesday May 10 at Endicott College.
The winner will travel to undefeated Cortland State (17-0) Saturday afternoon. Colorado College is 9-6 and earned an independent bid to the tourney while Endicott owns a 17-2 record.
The game time has not been set because EC's men's lacrosse team also earned a home game in its NCAA Tournament that same day. This is the first home NCAA Tournament game for both Endicott lacrosse programs.
The Gulls, who are ranked No. 6 in the latest NCAA Division III New England Regional Poll, have won seven straight games, including the last three in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament by a combined score of 46-26. Endicott lost its first game of the season to Villa Julie, 13-11, in double overtime before embarking on a school-record 10-game winning streak. Colby-Sawyer halted the streak with an 11-9 win at Endicott - the team's only loss of the season at home. But the Gulls finished the season strong and will be a tough draw in the NCAA's despite lacking experience in the tourney.
