Final Stats

BEVERLY, MA - Mt. Holyoke scored the last three goals of the game, but it was not enough to stop Endicott from winning its 10th straight game, 14-13, Monday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action.

Cathy Sharp (Rutland, VT/Rutland netted five goals for the Gulls, who improved to 10-1 overall (5-0 CCC). Caitlin Taylor (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth) and Christina Donatiello (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) each recorded hat tricks to pace the Lyons (3-6, 0-2 NEWMAC).

Endicott appeared poised to run away with the game late in the first half when it reeled off four straight goals by four different players, but the visitors ended the half with a Donatiello tally, cutting the Gulls' lead to 9-6 at intermission.

The Lyons kept the pressure on in the opening minutes of the second half, scoring four unanswered goals to take a 9-8 lead. Donatiello scored two during the run, but Sharp answered at the 24:51 mark to stall the rally on her fourth of the day. That sparked another EC run on goals by Molly Moss (Yarmouth, ME/North Yarmouth Academy), who scored twice and added an assist, Sharp and Sara Gunter (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk), who capped the run and her hat trick with 12:09 to play in regulation for a 13-8 cushion.

Mt. Holyoke roared back, scoring three of the final four goals, but it was Emily Judd's (Peabody, MA/Peabody) tally with 4:03 left on a Gunter pass that proved to be the difference for Endicott.

Judd collected three goals and a helper, while Gunter finished with a hat trick and an assist. Shiori Tachiwana (Kanagawa, Japan/Sakae Institute) also scored in the win and Sharp added an assist to her five-goal outburst.

Marika Austin (Ashton, MD/Sandy Spring Friends), Anita Eckert (Seattle, WA/Ojai Valley School) and Danielle Babcock (Lexington, MA/Lexington) each scored twice for the Lyons while Taylor dished out three helpers as well.

Junior netminder Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould Academy) made 17 saves to earn her 10th win of the year. Endicott returns to action Wednesday afternoon at home versus Colby-Sawyer (4).
