Two Overtime Goals Lifts Endicott Over New England College

Henniker, NH - New England College women's lacrosse fell to 9-7 overall losing state the Endicott College Culls 12-10 in overtime Saturday afternoon. The win improves Endicott College to 14-2 overall and ties them with Colby-Sawyer for first place in the CCC with a record of 8-1.

The Pilgrims would jump out to an early lead scoring the first two goals of the game but Endicott would battle back to tie the game at 3-3 with just over ten minutes remaining in the first half. The Gulls would end the first half with three unanswered goals heading into halftime with the 6-4 lead. The Pilgrims would tie the game scoring two goals in the first two minutes of the second half but Endicott would answer again scoring three goals to retake the lead. The two teams would exchange goals but NEC would tack on two goals and cut the Gull lead to just one with under three minutes to play in the game. NEC's Makaila Sinclair (Marblehead, MA) would come through for the Pilgrims scoring the game-tying goal with seven seconds remaining sending the game into overtime tied 10-10. The Gulls would outshoot the Pilgrims 4-1 in overtime and Endicott's Alex Pearce (Underhill, VT/Kimball Union Academy) would connected with what would be the game-winner and eventually lead the Gulls to the 12-10 overtime victory.

Leading the way for Endicott College was Cathy Sharp (Rutland, VT/Rutland) who finished with a game-high five points including four goals and one assist. Endicott's Shiori Tachiwana (Kanagawa, Japan/Sakae Institue) scored three goals, while Alex Pearce scored two goals and picked up an assist.

Leading the way for NEC was Makaila Sinclair and Emily Tanguay (Manchester, NH) who each finished with three goals. NEC's Jess Hanson (Readfield, ME) chipped in a goal and an assist for the Pilgrims.

Picking up the win in goal for the Gulls was Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould Academy) who recorded 11 saves on the afternoon. In goal for the Pilgrims was Laura Bishop (Brunswick, ME) who finished with 14 saves on the afternoon.
