BEVERLY, MA - Senior Cathy Sharp (Rutland, VT/Rutland) led Endicott to its school-record eighth consecutive victory, 12-11, over UMass-Dartmouth with a last second goal Thursday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action.
Sharp netted two goals in all, including the game-winner on a free-position with 12 second remaining in regulation. She has 31 on the season to help the Gulls improve to 8-1 (3-0 CCC).
EC enjoyed a seven-game winning streak last spring. Since losing on opening day in double overtime to Villa Julie, EC has reeled off eight straight victories behind junior goaltender Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould Academy) came up with 15 saves to improve to 8-0 in between the pipes.
Endicott enjoyed an 8-4 halftime advantage, but was forced to rely on Sharp for the win. Heather Hatfield (Tyngsboro, MA/Tyngsboro) and Sara Gunter (Kennebunk, ME/Kennebunk) each scored two goals and dished out two assists while Emily Judd (Peabody, MA/Peabody) and Shiori Tachiwana (Kanagawa, Japan/Sakae Institute) tallied two goals apiece.
Endicott got one goal and one assist from Susie Neikirk (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) and a Kate Colley (Wells, ME/Wells) assist.
The Gulls will look continue their winning ways Saturday when they travel to Nichols.
