Jaylin Couto and Analise Grady Claim CCC Honors

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Two members of the Endicott softball team have earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly honors, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Jaylin Couto (Taunton, Mass.), and Analise Grady (Reading, Mass.) received Pitcher and Rookie of the Week accolades, respectively.

JAYLIN COUTO | SR. | P

Couto went 2-1 this week for the Gulls in the circle.

She did not allow an earned run and had 26 strikeouts in 21 innings of work. She began the week with a five-inning outing against Ohio Northern, allowing just one hit and two walks for the win.

Couto followed that up with a tough-luck loss, to the University of Chicago, tossing a nine-inning complete game. She gave up just four hits and one walk while striking out 11, but two unearned runs allowed put her on the losing side.

Couto got back in the win column against Wesleyan (Conn.) as she pitched a three-hit complete game shutout. She had 13 strikeouts and no walks in the contest.

ANALISE GRADY | FR. | P

Grady had a strong showing in two starts this week for Endicott.

The Gulls went 2-0 with her in the circle, while she personally posted a 1-0 record. She tossed 11 total innings, allowing seven hits, four runs (three earned), and struck out five.

Her first outing came on Monday (March 13) against Ohio Northern. The first-year hurler went five innings allowing three hits and just one unearned run, but took a no decision.

Grady then picked up her first career win on Thursday (March 16) against Wisconsin Lutheran. She pitched six innings allowing four hits and struck out four. Grady finished the week with a 1.91 ERA.
