Three Gulls Earn United Soccer Coaches All-Region Honors

ALL-REGION RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Three members of the Endicott men's soccer program have received United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors.

Joe Mepham (Sudbury, Mass.) earned All-Region II First Team honors, while Tiago Frazao (Trumbull, Conn.) and Spencer Butterworth (Topsfield, Mass.) were named to the Second Team and Third Team, respectively.

The three honorees are the second-most in a single season for the Gulls.

JOE MEPHAM | JR. | F

Mepham compiled 25 points (6 G, 13 A) in 21 games played (all starts) on the season.

The 2022 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Offensive Player of the Year ranked first in the league in assists, fourth in points, and seventh in goals.

Nationally, Mepham is positioned fifth in total assists and ninth in assists per game (0.62) among his Division III peers.

This is Mepham's second career United Soccer Coaches All-Region award (both first team).

TIAGO FRAZAO | JR. | M

In 14 games played (all starts), Frazao registered six goals and six assists for 18 points.

The 2022 All-CCC First Team honoree ranked seventh in the conference in goals, fourth in assists, and sixth in points.

Frazao also played a major role in Endicott ranking second in the league in total goals (40) and total points (116) from his midfield position.

This is Frazao's first career All-Region honor.

SPENCER BUTTERWORTH | SO. | B

Butterworth guided the Gulls to a 1.24 goals against average (GAA) in 19 games played (all starts) through his physical and consistent play from the back line.

Endicott pitched seven shutouts on the year, including five in league play to register a CCC-leading (tied) 0.78 GAA in nine matches.

Butterworth also buried his first collegiate goal in a 3-3 tie against Salve Regina on October 8.

This is his first career All-Region award.

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott posted a 12-5-4 overall record and a 7-1-1 mark in league play.

The Gulls earned the No. 1 seed in the CCC Tournament and an automatic bye into the semifinal round, but ultimately fell to Suffolk, 2-0, for a shot at the championship.

Endicott's 2022 season featured several historic moments, including earning the program's first-ever national ranking and becoming the first team in school history to play a regular season game against a Power 5 opponent
