BRISTOL, R.I. — The Endicott men's soccer team defeated Roger Williams, 3-2, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Saturday evening at Bayside Field.
Joe Mepham (Sudbury, Mass.), Ryan Gerry (Durham, Conn.), and Joe Akisik (Sudbury, Mass.) all scored in the victory (2', 38', 66').
Mepham jumpstarted the Gulls' offense with a great individual play up the right wing moments after the opening touch.
After stealing the ball near the far sideline, Mepham sprinted up the right wing and created a penalty kick opportunity — which he promptly buried — after his initial cross into the box resulted in a hand-ball.
Both of Endicott's remaining scores came off headers at the doorstep of the goal thanks to long throw-ins from Codan Foley (Carver, Mass.).
In goal, Kyle Rosa (Norton, Mass.) stopped a game-high six shots to improve to 3-0-2 on the season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Gulls are 4-0-1 in their last five contests.
- Foley notched the first multi-assist game of his career.
- Gerry netted his first collegiate tally.
- Akisik buried his first career game-winning goal.
