Men's Soccer Draws With No. 16 Coast Guard, 1-1

NEW LONDON, Conn. The Endicott men's soccer team tied No. 16 nationally ranked Coast Guard, 1-1, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at Nitchman Field.

After a scoreless first half, Joe Mepham (Sudbury, Mass.) knocked home an 18-yard-plus snipe via a free kick at the 60:12 mark to give Endicott the 1-0 advantage, at the time.

However, Coast Guard was able to find the equalizer at 73:26, which held true the rest of the way.

In goal, Kyle Rosa (Norton, Mass.) stopped eight shots in his first start this season (0-0-1).

BEYOND THE BOX

  • The all-time series between Endicott and Coast Guard is tied at 1-1-1 overall.
  • Mepham and Tiago Frazao (Trumbull, Conn.) are tied for the team-high in points (11). 
  • The Bears have not lost a match dating back to 10/16/21 at Springfield, 1-0.

Endicott (5-3-2) hosts Western New England on Friday, September 30 at 7 PM. No. 16 Coast Guard (6-0-2) travels to MIT on Saturday, October 1 at 5 PM.
