Men's Soccer Downs MIT, 3-2

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team defeated MIT, 3-2, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.

In the first half, Conor Rooney (Monroe, Conn.) sniped home the first goal of his colligate career into the upper right corner of the net at the 30:00 mark to give the Gulls an early 1-0 advantage.

Following an MIT score (34:10), Cole Elgin (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) found the back of the net at 48:49 before Jason Brodeur (Hanson, Mass.) added an all-important insurance goal at the 51:34 mark to give Endicott a 3-1 lead, at the time.

The Engineers cut into the deficit almost 10 minutes later, but Endicott's defense put the clamps on their potential comeback bid to secure its first victory of the season.

Meanwhile, in goal for the Gulls, Zach Regulbuto (Somers, Conn.) stopped six shots in the victory (1-0-1).
