Men's Soccer Blanks Curry, 3-0

MILTON, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team shut out Curry, 3-0, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Wednesday night at Walter M. Katz Field.

Following an own goal by Curry at the beginning of the second stanza (48:02), Sonny Mazza (East Longmeadow, Mass.) buried a tally 10 minutes later to give the Gulls the upper hand, 2-0. 

From there, Joe Mepham (Sudbury, Mass.) found the foot of Cole Elgin (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) to sneak one past the Colonels' back line with one second remaining in regulation to put the exclamation point on the victory. 

Meanwhile, Kyle Rosa (Norton, Mass.) improved his record to 4-0-3 in between the pipes (third clean sheet).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 21-3-1 in the all-time series versus Curry. 
  • The Gulls have now won 10 or more regular season games in four of the past five seasons. 
  • Mazza recorded the first goal of his collegiate career. 
  • Mepham registered his 10th assist of the season, which ranks tied for second all-time in a single campaign in program history.
  • Endicott has held its opponents scoreless six times this season (4 CCC shutouts).

Endicott (10-3-4, 5-1-1 CCC) hosts Wentworth on Saturday, October 22 at 3 PM. Curry (6-4-4, 1-3-3 CCC) hosts Salve Regina on Saturday, October 22 at 2 PM.
