BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw versus Norwich on Thursday night in front of an electric crowd at Hempstead Stadium.
After trailing 1-0 following the half, Joe Mepham (Sudbury, Mass.) and Joe Cusack (Foxboro, Mass.) found the foot of Keveen Delgado (Pittsfield, Mass.) at the 74:07 mark to tie the match one all.
From there, the defensive standstill continued for both schools as the match resulted in a tie. As of this year, overtime is no longer played in regular season matches due to NCAA rules.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The match served as the first meeting between the two programs in school history.
- Delgado netted the first goal of his collegiate career.
- Mepham notched his 28th career point.
- Norwich edged Endicott in corner kicks, 6-5.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (0-0-1) hosts MIT on Saturday, September 3 at 1 PM at Hempstead Stadium. Norwich (0-0-1) visits Gordon on Saturday, September 3 at 7 PM.
