Men’s Soccer Ties Norwich, 1-1, In Season Opener

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw versus Norwich on Thursday night in front of an electric crowd at Hempstead Stadium.

After trailing 1-0 following the half, Joe Mepham (Sudbury, Mass.) and Joe Cusack (Foxboro, Mass.) found the foot of Keveen Delgado (Pittsfield, Mass.) at the 74:07 mark to tie the match one all.

From there, the defensive standstill continued for both schools as the match resulted in a tie. As of this year, overtime is no longer played in regular season matches due to NCAA rules.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The match served as the first meeting between the two programs in school history.
  • Delgado netted the first goal of his collegiate career.
  • Mepham notched his 28th career point.
  • Norwich edged Endicott in corner kicks, 6-5.
