The Maccabi USA Hockey team and Carter Horwitz's tournament run ended in Silver, and the Endicott Community and Carter's family couldn't be prouder of the their accomplishments.

After a few days off, the Maccabi USA Hockey team took the ice one more time in pool play with a lot on the line against Germany. A chance to play in the gold medal game to be exact. With everything on the line, Team USA earned the victory, setting up a rematch against Canada for gold.

On Monday, Carter and his teammates defeated host Israel, 7-0. The squad is now 2-0-1 and currently sit in first place in the Maccabiah Games.

On Sunday, the team got after it in the weight room as part of their strength and conditioning regimen. Carter also took part in an incline treadmill "race".

Carter scored two goals to help the Maccabi USA Hockey team defeat Russia, 12-3, for the squad's first win of prelims. The USA Hockey team is now 1-0-1 so far in pool play.

In their first game of the prelims, USA lost to the defending champions Canada, 3-2 in overtime, but showed some great resolve despite being down 2-0 in the contest to force an eventual overtime period.

Carter and the team traveled to Old Jerusalem prior to official practices and prep for the Maccabiah Games.
Prior to arriving in Israel, Carter took some time to write a story on playing for his country and his faith for www.ecgulls.com. The story was published on June 29, more or less at the same time that he arrived in Jerusalem.
