CCC SEMIFINALS: No. 1 Endicott Takes On No. 6 Johnson & Wales

BEVERLY, Mass. – The first-seeded Endicott men's ice hockey team will host No. 6 seed Johnson & Wales University this Wednesday in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament semifinals at 7:00 PM at Raymond J. Bourque Arena. Ticket prices for Wednesday's game are as follows: Endicott students are free, $3.00 for students/senior citizens and $5.00 for adults (children under 12 are not charged admission).

The No. 7/9 nationally ranked Gulls earned the first seed in the CCC Tournament after winning the inaugural CCC men's ice hockey regular season championship with a 14-3-1 conference record. Endicott then went on to win its CCC Tournament quarterfinals matchup against No. 8 Western New England last Saturday by an 8-3 score at home. (BOX SCORE | RECAP)

Meanwhile, Johnson & Wales claimed the sixth-seed in the tournament with a 6-9-3 league record. The Wildcats upset No. 3 seed Salve Regina University by 4-3 score last Saturday to advance to the semis. (BOX SCORE | RECAP)

THE MATCHUP: Endicott is 2-0-0 against Johnson & Wales this season, and has outscored the Wildcats 10-5 in those two meetings. In their last matchup, the Gulls raced out to a 3-0 lead through the early stages of the third period before both squads exchanged goals down the stretch during the final stanza for an eventual 5-2 outcome.

Endicott enters Wednesday's semifinal game on a nine-game winning streak, while the Wildcats have won their last two contests and posted a 2-1-2 record in their last five.

SERIES HISTORY: The Gulls are 4-0-0 all-time, and 2-0-0 at Raymond J. Bourque Arena versus Johnson & Wales. Endicott also holds a 17-7 margin in the scoring column.

WHAT'S AT STAKE

The winner of Wednesday's matchup between first-seeded Endicott and sixth-seeded Johnson & Wales will play the winner of second-seeded Nichols (15-6-5) and fifth-seeded University of New England (14-9-2) on Saturday in the CCC championship at the highest remaining seed.
