No. 9/10 Endicott Outlasts Curry, 6-4

MILTON, Mass. – The No. 9/10 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Curry College, 6-4, in a league matchup on Saturday evening at Max Ulin Rink.

Tied 2-2 early on in the second period, Endicott tallied four straight goals to take a commanding 6-2 lead headed into the second intermission on tallies from Jack Kilty (Medway, Mass.), Josh Bowes (Edmonton, Alberta), Jason Kalinowski (Stamford, Conn.), and Cam Bleck (Lake Forest, Ill.).

Despite allowing a pair of goals in the third, the Gulls outlasted the Colonels the rest of the way to move to 17-3-2 overall and 11-3-1 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play. The victory for Endicott also extended its winning streak to five games, and conversely, stopped Curry's (12-8-2, 9-4-2 CCC) three-game winning streak in its tracks.

Gulls' netminder Kevin Aldridge (Birgmingham, Mich.) made 36 saves in the win (15-3-2). Curry goaltender Brett Sinclair (St. Catharines, Ontario) stopped 29 shots in the loss (10-7-2).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls established a new single-season program record for wins tonight (16-9-2 in 2015-16).
  • Endicott is 3-1-0 in the all-time series against Curry.
  • The Gulls have won the last three matchups by a combined score 23-7.
  • Logan Day (Seminole, Fla.) tied up the contest at 1-1 in the first (12:17), and Bleck gave the Gulls their first of two leads on the night 38-seconds later in the period.
  • Endicott went 3-for-6 on the power play.
  • Aldridge has made 30 or more saves in eight games this season.

FOR THE FOES

  • Jarret Kup (Rosseau, Ontario) put Curry on the scoreboard first to start the contest at the 8:44 mark.
  • Shane Tracy (Bow, N.H.) buried tallies in the second (3:37) and third (7:51), respectively.
  • Adam Valadao (Ajax, Ontario) cut into the Colonels' deficit at 6-3 just 19-seconds into the third.
  • Curry went 3-for-10 with the extra-man advantage.

Endicott (17-3-2, 11-3-1 CCC) travels to Western New England University next Thursday, February 16 at 7:10 PM. Curry (12-8-2, 9-4-2 CCC) hosts the University of New England this coming Thursday at 6:45 PM.
