BEVERLY, Mass. – Only halfway through their second seasons as NCAA Division III programs, the Endicott men's and women's ice hockey teams have both earned national rankings following the release of today's D3hockey.com and USCHO.com national polls. Today's announcements from D3hockey.com and USCHO.com also mark the first time both programs have been nationally ranked at the same time in the College's history.

On December 12, 2016, the Endicott women's ice hockey team earned the first national ranking between both programs of No. 10 overall by USCHO.com, and also maintained that No. 10 ranking earlier today, while the men's ice hockey team was positioned No. 13 by D3hockey.com and No. 14 via USCHO.com this afternoon.

"It's truly remarkable how quickly our men's and women's ice hockey programs have entered the national rankings in just their second seasons at the NCAA Division III level," said Endicott Director of Athletics and Recreation Brian Wylie. "I strongly believe that this has happened because we have two of the best head coaches in RJ Tolan and Andy McPhee leading those teams, and also some of the most phenomenal student-athletes representing both men's and women's ice hockey in the country. Both programs have instilled an upbeat spirit on campus, and most importantly, have been among the highest in team GPA's within the department. "

Wylie continued to speak about the success of both programs.

"It's also outstanding to see the women's team ranked third nationally for winning percentage, and to watch the men continue to add to their 10-game winning streak, which currently stands as the longest active winning streak in the country," said Wylie. "Again, all of this success is a testament to their hard work, and with the way both of those teams approach the process of getting better each day, it should be an interesting rest of the season for each program."

WHAT'S NEXT

The men's team (10-2-2) hosts Stonehill College on Friday, January 13 at 4 PM, while the women's program (12-1-1) travels to No. 6/6 Middlebury next Saturday for a non-conference game at 3 PM.
