Gordon Tops Men's Basketball, 83-77

WENHAM, Mass. – The Endicott men's basketball team fell to Gordon College, 83-77, on Saturday afternoon, at the Bennett Center. 

Trailing by 11 (23-12) with just under 11 minutes to play in the first half, The Gulls went on a 16-3 run to earn their first lead of the half (28-26). 

From there, the game was back-and-forth for the majority of the contest. Then with the game tied at 61, The Fighting Scots went on a 10-2 run to open up an eight-point lead (71-63).

The Gulls then mounted a come-back with an 11-2 run to earn a 74-73 lead at the 3:05 mark of the second half. 

However, over the final three minutes, Gordon outscored Endicott, 10-3 to earn the victory. 

Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) led the Gulls with 26 points, while Jalen Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) had 18 points and Matt McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine) secured an 18 point 14 rebound double-double. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Today was McDevitt's second double-double of the season. 
  • Eric Demers led the Fighting Scots and all scorers with 35 points. 
  • Endicott and Gordon split the regular season series. 
  • The Gulls still leads the all-time series over The Fighting Scots, 26-21.

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (15-5, 9-2 CCC) will travel to The University Of New England on Wednesday, February 5 at 7:30 PM. Gordon (10-9, 5-5 CCC) will travel to Western New England on Wednesday, February 5 at 8 PM.
