Undefeated Endicott women's tennis wins 9-0 over Gordon

BEVERLY, Mass. –
After winning 9-0 over CCC foe Gordon on Thursday afternoon, the Endicott women’s tennis will now travel to face Nichols, who is also undefeated in league matches, on Saturday, October 8th in Dudley to determine the conference’s top seeded team for the playoffs. 

The Gulls (11-0, 7-0 CCC) and Nichols Bison (11-3, 7-0 CCC) meet in Dudley on Saturday for a 12:00 pm match.  After their loss today, Gordon falls to 1-7 overall and 1-5 in conference play.  Gordon will play Roger Williams on the road tomorrow for a 4:00 pm CCC match.

Today, against the Scots, the Blue and Green rolled to straight set victories in each singles match.  Seniors Kate Cioffi (Essex, Vt.) and Emily Annis (Hampton, N.H.) took the top two singles spots by scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-2, respectively. 

Junior Gina Pinciaro (Beverly, Mass.) played her first \#3 singles match of the season and won 6-0, 6-1 to improve to 7-0 on the season overall.  Sophomore Emily Marcello (Greenwood, Ind.) took the \#4 singles match 6-2, 6-1 while sophomore Melanie Weinick (Colchester, Conn.) and junior Ashley Sullivan (Concord, N.H.) rounded out singles play with 6-0, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-1 victories.

In doubles action, junior Laura MacLeod (Mashpee, Mass.) and freshman Natalie Egbert (Gorham, Maine) teamed up at \#1 doubles to win 8-2 over their Gordon opponents.  At \#2 doubles, freshman Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.) and sophomore Emilie Cloutier (Lewiston, Maine) continued their undefeated streak at that spot with an 8-1 triumph. 

In the final doubles match, junior Rachel Fenstermaker (Somerset, Mass.) and senior Kristen DiFillippo (Lynnfield, Mass.) won over Scots sophomore Kristin Dillon (Exeter, Maine) and junior Katie Madison (Longview, Wash.).
