BRISTOL, R.I. – The Endicott women’s tennis team remained undefeated at 4-0 overall and 3-0 in CCC play following a 6-3 win over Roger Williams in conference action Tuesday afternoon.
Roger Williams dropped to 2-2 (1-1 CCC) after earning points in \#1 doubles, \#4 singles, and \#6 singles.
The Gulls took two out of three doubles matches and four out of six singles matches with freshmen Emilie Cloutier (Lewiston, Maine) and Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.) playing a role in three of the five wins.
Cloutier and Heacox teamed up at the \#3 doubles spot to defeat Kirstin Dono (West Boylston, Mass.) and Olivia Hilton (Vernon, Conn.) by a score of 8-1. Cloutier went on to win 6-4, 6-2 at \#2 singles and Heacox claimed victory at \#3 singles by a score of 7-6 (5-3), 6-3.
Endicott senior Kate Cioffi (Essex, Vt.) won in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 over her Hawks opponent and Natalie Egbert (Gorham, Maine) took the \#5 singles point with a 6-4, 6-0 win. Cioffi and \#1 doubles partner Emily Annis (Hampton, N.H.) narrowly missed out on another point for the Gulls, falling 9-8 (7-5). Egbert and her doubles partner Laura MacLeod (Mashpee, Mass.) earned the point at the \#2 doubles position 8-5.
Endicott hosts Gordon in CCC action on Thursday, September 15th at 4:00 pm at the South Campus Courts. Roger Williams travels to Salve Regina on Friday for a 3:30 pm match.
