Matus, Rischitelli and Venditti Garner All-Region Accolades

2022 UNITED SOCCER COACHES ALL-REGION TEAMS

ENDICOTT WOMEN'S SOCCER ALL-REGION HISTORY

BEVERLY, Mass. - The United Soccer Coaches announced the 2022 All-Region teams and the Endicott women's soccer program saw Julia Matus (East Greenwich, R.I.), Riley Rischitelli (North Brookfield, Mass.) and Angelina Venditti (East Lyme, Conn.) receive recognition for NCAA Division III Region II. Matus and Rischitelli were named to the All-Region Second Team, while Venditti was selected to the Third Team.

The three team honors ties a program high, marking the third time the Gulls have placed three on United Soccer Coaches (previously NSCAA) all-region teams. Endicott previously accomplished the feat in 2021 and in 2010.


SECOND TEAM ALL-REGION

JULIA MATUS | SR. | M

Matus recorded 14 points on the season (6 G, 2 A) in 19 games played on the season, which included 18 starts. 

The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) First Team member led the Gulls in points and goals, while tying for second on the team with her two assists.

This is Matus' first career United Soccer Coaches All-Region award.


RILEY RISCHITELLI | SO. | F

Rischitelli recorded 10 points on the season (4 G, 2 A), as she saw action in 19 matches, earning 17 starts.

The Second Team All-CCC member finished tied for second on the roster with her four goals, two assists, and ten points.

This is Rischitelli's second straight season earning an All-Region honor as she was named to the Third Team


THIRD TEAM ALL-REGION

ANGELINA VENDITTI | JR. | D

Venditti played a pivotal role in anchoring an Endicott back line that posted a 0.89 goals against average (GAA), the best mark of all CCC teams.

The Gulls posted eight shutouts on the season, including a league-leading five in CCC play, while finishing with a 0.78 GAA in CCC play, second-best in the league.

This is Venditti's first All-Region honor, as she was also named to the All-CCC Third Team in 2022.


YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott posted a 9-5-5 overall record and a 3-2-4 mark in league play.

The Gulls fell in the CCC Quarterfinal round after advancing to the postseason for the 23rd straight season since joining the CCC.

Endicott's 2022 season featured several highlight moments, including claiming the Mayor's Cup title with wins over Hartwick and Oneonta, and climbing to No. 21 in the United Soccer Coaches DIII National Poll (9/13/22).
