Gulls Score 3-0 Win Over Bison

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott women's soccer team played host to Nichols on Tuesday evening in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action, and the Gulls came away with an emphatic 3-0 win to improve to 8-3-3 overall, and 2-1-2 in CCC play. The loss drops the Bison to 6-6-1, and 1-4-0 in CCC play.

Endicott got on the board first in the 19th minute when Grace Jewett (Millis, Mass.) took a feed from Samantha Klimas (North Andover, Mass.) and found herself one-on-one with the keeper. Jewett was able to fire a shot on goal and tuck it inside the post for her third of the year to give the hosts the 1-0 lead, as Klimas' assist was her second of the campaign.

From there, the Gulls would continue to challenge the Bison back line, finishing the frame with 10 shots, seven of which were on goal, while earning two corners, as the 1-0 lead stood after 45 minutes.

The second half would prove to be all Endicott, as the Gulls out-shot the Bison 14-1, and eventually tacked on two more tallies, with the first coming from Riley Rischitelli (North Brookfield, Mass.) at the 48:35 mark. Rischitelli was able to make a run down the left side and cut all the way across the box and fire a shot that beat the Nichols keeper into the upper corner to extend Endicott's lead to 2-0. The second strike came off the foot of Alexandria Dostie (Essex Junction, Vt.), as Lindsey Papa (Tolland, Conn.) found her to swell the lead to 3-0, a score that would hold true to the final whistle.

Keeper Jacqueline Ruggiero (Dedham, Mass.) was called on to make two saves in her return, pitching her sixth shutout, and improving her record to 6-2-2 overall.
