BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott women's soccer team fell to No. 10 Babson in non-conference play on Wednesday night by a 2-0 final. The loss drops Endicott to 5-2-1 overall on the season, while Babson remains undefeated at 7-0-0.
Both of the Beavers' goals came in the first half of play, scoring the first in the 18th minute on a shot that slipped inside the left post, before scoring the second at the 34:12 mark, on a high-arcing shot that just cleared the crossbar to make it 2-0 in favor of the visitors.
Endicott's Jacqueline Ruggiero (Dedham, Mass.) posted six saves on eight shots on goal in the setback, as the Gulls' defensive unit went toe-to-toe with the Beavers' attack all night.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott held Babson to a season-low in goals scored, while limiting their attack to 16 total shots, tied for their third lowest total of the season.
- The Gulls were able to hold the Babson attack to just three shots in the second half.
- The series is now even between the two programs at 6-6-2 all-time.
