Beverly, MA--In a big Commonwealth Coast Conference match-up, Endicott defeated local rival Gordon College, 3-1. Remaining undefeated and at the top of the CCC, the Gulls improve their conference record to 9-0.
Scoring two goals for the Gulls was Beverly's own, Stacey Lubas. Off of a cross from junior forward Leah Walters, Lubas found the back of the net in the 22nd minute to give Endicott a 1-0 lead. Scoring, what would later be the game-winning goal, freshman Caitlin D'Amario capitalized on a scoring opportunity in the 28th minute of play. Gordon would cut the lead in half with only a little over a minute left to play in the first half.
But in the 85th minute, Lubas would find the net for the second time, giving Endicott an insurance goal, and the 3-1 lead. The score remained the same, and Endicott now stands at 11-2-1 overall.
EC is back in action when they face conference member New England College at 4pm on Saturday October 18th. The date marks Endicott's Homecoming, and Senior Day for the women's soccer team.
