The Endicott women's soccer team is off to one of their best starts in women's soccer history. Defeating Colby-Sawyer, Endicott is now 5-1, and 3-0 in conference play. Stepping up in the midfield, junior Stacey Lubas (Beverly, MA) scored her first goal of the game in the 14th minute, which was assisted by senior co-captain Kate Healey. In the 26th minute of play, Lubas found the net again off a pass from sophomore Jillian Zagura (Hudson, MA).
Equaling Lubas' accomplishments, junior forward Leah Walters began the scoring in the 12th minute. Walters would score again in the 50th minute and three minutes later, assist freshman forward Caitlin D'Amario. Contributing to the goal scoring, senior co-captain Dana Schutz scored her first goal of the season in the 18th minute.
The Endicott defense allowed only one goal, proving their ability to play as a unit and prevent teams from breaking down the wall. Standout defender, senior co-captain Jessica Scholz anchored the defense, which consisted of junior Lauren Suarez, sophomore Katie Cederberg and freshmen Meghan Sneigoski & Staci Wiencko, in the 6-1 victory.
The Endicott women's soccer team returns to play when they travel to Roger Williams University on Saturday, September 20th, which is set to kickoff at 2:30pm.
