Milton, MA - Despite the weather, the Endicott women's soccer team battled Curry College through the rain, and added another victory with a 3-0 win. In the first half, EC out shot Curry 16 to 2, but the Gulls couldn't seem to find the back of the net. EC also had 9 corner kicks in the first 45 minutes, but they failed to capitalize.
As the second half began, the weather took a turn for the worse, which resulted in terrible playing conditions. Regardless of the weather, senior co-captain Dana Schutz stepped up to the challenge and scored the first goal of the game, off an assist from freshman forward Caitlin D'Amario.
Switching roles, Schutz would assist D'Amario for the second goal of the game. Taking advantage of one of five corner kicks in the second half, Schutz would find D'Amario crashing the net and volleying the second goal of the game into the back of the net, giving EC the go-ahead goal.
As the rain pounded relentlessly, the teams continued to play. Junior forward and CCC Co-Player of the Week Leah Walters would cap the score at 3-0, giving EC the victory and their 5th conference win. The Gulls are now 5-0 in conference play, and 7-1 in regular play.
Their next game is on Saturday September 27th, when conference member Salem State College travels to Beverly. Kick off is set to start at 1pm.
