Beverly, MA--The Women's soccer team capitalized nine times on 33 shots during their victory against Regis College. Sophomore Jillian Zagura scored four goals in the win. Her first goal came in the 3rd minute of play, which was assisted by Meghan Sneigoski. Assisting Zagura's second goal was junior midfielder Stacey Lubas.
Giving Endicott a 3-0 advantge was senior co-captain Kate Healey in the 9th minute of play. Zagura would earn a hat trick in the 13th minute, giving EC a 4-0 lead. Junior forward Leah Walters joined the scoring attack when freshman defender Staci Wiencko found Walters who netted the ball to cap the first half score at 5-0.
Only minutes into the second half, Walters would assist Lubas, scoring her first goal of the game. Once again, Zagura would find the back of the net, shooting from the far left side, giving EC a decent 7-0 lead. Lubas scored her second goal of the game in the 65th minute when she finished on a cross. With less than a minute to play, freshman Amy Stevens scored her first collegiate goal, capping the score at 9-0.
In goal for Endicott and earning her first collegiate start and shutout was Tina Loguidice of Hyde Park, NY.
The Gulls return to action on Tuesday October 7th when they face conference member Eastern Nazarene College, which is set to kickoff at 7pm.
