Under the helm of head coach Dina Gentile, the Endicott women's soccer team is off to their best start in team history. Out shooting their opponent Roger Williams University 16 to 4, Endicott College capitalized seven times.
Senior co-captain Dana Schutz began the scoring in the 29th minute when she ripped a shot from thirty yards out. Scoring two minutes later, sophomore Jillian Zagura rebounded a shot taken by Stacey Lubas, adding another talley.
The EC Gulls would score a third goal when junior forward Leah Walters finished in the 38th minute. Less than a minute later, junior Katrina Perkins scored her first goal of the season to cap the score at 4-0 for the first half.
Ten minutes into the second half, senior co-captain Jessica Scholz scored off a direct kick from 35 yards out. Walters added another goal to her stats, by scoring in the 63rd minute. Freshman forward Caitlin D'Amario topped the scoring in the 76th minute to give EC a 7-0 victory.
EC is currently 6-1 on the season, and 4-0 in conference play. This week alone, they have scored 13 goals in the past two games. The EC women's soccer team travels to Curry College, which is set to kick-off at 3:30, Tuesday September 23rd.
