BABSON PARK, Mass. — The Endicott softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games to Babson, 8-0 (6 inn.) and 9-8, on Tuesday evening at Alumni Field.
GAME ONE: Babson 8, Endicott 0 (6 inn.)
WP (11-7): Moira O'Reilly (Columbus, Ohio) — 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 9 K
LP (9-4): Jaylin Couto (Taunton, Mass.) — 2 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
Babson pushed across four runs in the first inning and O'Reilly handled the rest to secure the game one victory.
The senior lefty struck out nine batters for the third straight game, stranded six runners on base, and did not allow a single runner to reach scoring position.
GAME TWO: Babson 9, Endicott 8
WP (7-8): Katie Vlacich (Concord, N.H.) — 7 IP, 11 H, 8 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
LP (7-4): Kristen Beebe (Brentwood, N.H.) — 3.2 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K
The nightcap featured multiple lead changes, but, ultimately, Babson completed the sweep with a walk-off two-run single.
Hadley Marchand (Andover, Conn.) launched a solo shot in the fourth inning (2-1 deficit), while Paige Berdos (Plainville, Mass.) collected three RBI in the setback.
Her third and final RBI, a double to left field, gave Endicott an 8-7 lead in the seventh.
