BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott softball senior centerfielder Christina Nowicki (Chelsea, Mass.) and freshman right-handed pitcher Kristen Beebe (Brentwood, N.H) have been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player and Co-Rookie of the week, respectfully.
Nowicki went four-for-six with three singles, a triple, two RBI's, and a stolen base in Endicott's season-opening wins over St. Lawrence and Amherst on Sunday, March 17 in Clermont, Florida.
In the 10-2 win against St. Lawrence, the senior logged a two-for-three outing with a single, a stolen base, and an RBI triple.
She followed up with another multi-hit game in the Gulls' 5-0 win over Amherst on Sunday, once again going two-for-three with an RBI in the batter's box (two singles).
Beebe tossed a shut-out 6.2 IP with 10 strikeouts in the 5-0 win against Amherst. It was her first career start, and she shined for the Gulls.
The freshman limited the Mammoths to just three hits and five walks in the outing, which earned her her first career win.
This is Nowicki's first career CCC Player of the Week award and Beebe's first career CCC Rookie of the Week award.
