BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott softball junior first baseman Chloe Shapleigh (Lynnfield, Mass.) and freshman pitcher Kristen Beebe (Brentwood, N.H.) have been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Co-Player and Pitcher of the week, respectively, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
CHLOE SHAPLEIGH | CCC CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Shapleigh slashed .750/.875/2.250 in a doubleheader sweep over Curry (2-1, 11-4) on Saturday.
The junior went 3-for-4 with three runs, two homers, three RBI, four walks, and a stolen base over the two contests.
She hit a game-tying solo homer and scored the walk-off game-winning run in game one for the Blue in Green.
Shapleigh also provided some much-needed insurance in game two with another solo shot in the second inning (6-2 lead) and an RBI single in the fifth (10-4 lead).
This is her second career CCC Player of the Week award (5/8/23).
KRISTEN BEEBE | CCC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Beebe picked up her third career win in relief on Saturday in an 11-4 victory over Curry.
The freshman did not give up a hit or allow an earned run to score over her 3.1 innings of work.
She limited the Colonels to just two walks and fanned four batters on the afternoon.
The Brentwood, N.H. native worked herself out of a first-and-second two-out jam in the fourth. She allowed only one inherited runner to score by eventually striking out her first of four batters with the bases loaded, upholding the Gulls' 7-4 lead at that time.
This marks Beebe's second career CCC Rookie of the Week award (3/18/24).
