BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott softball freshman pitcher/infielder Hadley Marchand (Andover, Conn.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Marchand contributed to Endicott's 5-2 week in Florida as both a hitter and pitcher.
At the plate, she slashed .429/.500/1.000 alongside three hits, one run, a double, one homer, three RBI, and a walk.
The freshman's best game offensively came against Wesleyan (W, 8-0) as she went 3-for-3 with a run scored, a double, a solo shot, and three RBI.
In the circle, she was 1-0 overall with a save over seven innings of work, three hits, no runs allowed, two walks, and four strikeouts.
The Andover, Conn. native earned the victory over Wesleyan (5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K) and notched a save versus Framingham State (1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB). The win and save were each firsts in her collegiate career.
She also pitched a scoreless inning against No. 14 Tufts on Tuesday.
This is Marchand's first career CCC Rookie of the Week award.
