BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College softball team had six players named to the All-Conference teams after leading the Gulls to their fifth straight Commonwealth Coast Conference title this weekend.

Meghan Sargent (Salisbury, MA/Triton) was tabbed an All-Conference first team selection at catcher, she was also named the CCC Player of the Year after a monster sophomore season. Sargent hit .439 (47-for-107) with a conference leading 15 doubles, nine home runs and 50 runs batted in. Her 27 walks and .832 slugging percentage also led the league.

Sargent was joined on the first team by Sarah Spaziano (Norton, MA/Norton), Danielle Sargent (Sabattus, ME/Oak Hill) and Rachel Pearson (Gales Ferry, CT/Ledyard). Spaziano, a rookie third basemen had an outstanding freshman year hitting .328 with 28 runs scored, two doubles, two triples and 17 RBI.

Danielle Sargent also had a phenomenal season. Sargent started out batting ninth and moving up to the three-hole where she flourished hitting .389 with 39 runs scored, 10 doubles, six home runs and 30 RBI. Rachel Pearson also earned first team honors as the Gulls designated player. Pearson hit .365 with 22 runs scored, seven doubles, eight home runs and 42 RBI. She also split time at catcher with Meghan Sargent.

The Blue and Green also placed two players on the All-Conference second team, with freshman shortstop Jenna Lazar (Milton, MA/Milton) and Paula McGinn (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical) garnering those honors.

McGinn and Lazar were the proverbial table-setters for the Endicott offense, batting lead-off and second respectively. The pair provided the base runners necessary for the three, four and five hitters to drive in the majority of the teams runs. McGinn, the CCC Player of the Year as a striker in soccer, recovered from a knee injury to bat .289 with 18 runs scored, five doubles, two triples and 10 RBI in 28 games. She also went 5-for-6 in stolen base attempts and made just one error for a .917 fielding percentage.

Lazar was the quintessential two hitter for the Gulls, batting .342 with a team high 44 runs scored, four doubles and 12 RBI. She also walked 27 times, which tied her for the league lead, and struck out just seven times while posting a .465 on-base percentage.
