Box Score

BEVERLY, MA - Robyn Savitske (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) threw a five inning, complete game one hitter to lead the Gulls to an 8-0 win over cross town rivals Gordon College in game one of a CCC double-header. EC took the second game in similar fashion with a 15-0 win.

Savitske struck out five batters over five innings of work to pick up her fifth win of the year, running her record to 5-3 in eight decisions. She had her perfect game bid broken up by Joy Huseland (Monson, MA) who lined a single through the infield in the fourth inning but was later erased on a caught stealing.

Endicott jumped out to an early lead and never looked back picking up a run in the first inning on a Meghan Sargent (Salisbury, MA/Triton) RBI single that scored Jenna Lazar (Milton, MA/Milton). The Gulls added two more runs in the third inning as Rachel Pearson (Gales Ferry, CT/Ledyard) hit a two run homer that brought in Meghan Sargent from second to give EC a 3-0 advantage.

The Gulls tacked on five runs in the bottom of the fifth with Meghan Sargent sending an RBI double into the gap and driving in Lazar. Maria Mangine (Lockport, NY/Lockport) secured the win with a two out game ending grand slam.

Meghan Sargent and Rachel Pearson once again paced the Gulls offense as Sargent went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI while Pearson was 1-for-2 with two RBI, a run scored and a walk.

The Gulls picked up right were they left off in game two scoring in bunches with two runs in the first inning, four in the second and nine in the forth. Danielle Sargent (Sabattus, ME/Oak Hill) had a big day at the dish going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBI, two of which came on a second inning round tripper that put EC up 6-0.

Taylor Sevigny (Fitchburg, MA/St. Bernard's) had a break out game at the plate going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBI. Aly Keene (Auburn, ME/Edward Little) went 1-for-2 with a run scored and chipped in an RBI single for the Gulls.

Jenn Elwell (Tewksbury, MA/Shawsheen Tech) picked up her fifth win of the year going five strong innings, striking out five while surrendering just three hits. She also helped her own cause by picking up an RBI double in the second inning.

With poor weather on the horizon the Gulls will not host Southern Maine on Sunday but will instead return to the field on Tuesday April 17th with a non-conference double-header against Babson College starting at 3:30 pm in Beverly.
