BEVERLY, MA - Maria Mangine (Lockport, NY/Lockport) and Jackie Collier (Swampscott, MA/Bishop Fenwick) picked up wins for Endicott as the Gulls swept a Tuesday afternoon double-header against Commonwealth Coast Conference rival Anna Maria College, 9-1 and 9-0.

EC took the first game of the twin bill 9-1 in 5.5 innings. Mangine threw six innings allowing one run on one hit while striking out five. The Gulls came out of the box sprinting as they put three runs on the board in the first inning thanks to an RBI double from Meghan Sargent (Salisbury, MA/Triton) and a two run triple from Casey Shanley (Billerica, MA/Billerica) that drove in Sargent and Rachel Pearson (Gales Ferry, CT/Ledyard).

Endicott grabbed a two more runs in the second to extend its lead to 5-0 before breaking the game open by taking advantage of an Amcat error and wild pitch to score a pair of runs in the fourth inning. The Gulls added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth inning as Jenna Lazar (Milton, MA/Milton) drove in Paula McGinn and Meghan Sargent followed up with what turned out to be a game ending RBI single making it 9-1.

Jackie Collier got the start in game two and did not disappoint as she cruised through five innings, surrendering just two hits while striking out eight to give EC a 9-0 win. The Gulls scored early and often in game two plating two runs in the second inning as Jenn Elwell (Tewksbury, MA/Shawsheen Tech.) drove in Danielle Sargent and Jenna Lazar hit a sacrifice fly that brought Lynsey Vacchino (Kingston, MA/Silver Lake) from third.

Endicott's biggest inning came in the third inning with Meghan Sargent lining a leadoff double into the gap then Pearson and Shanley working walks. Danielle Sargent would then clear the bases with her second grand slam home run of the year pushing EC's lead to 6-0.

The Gulls added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI double from Pearson, and RBI ground out from Shanley that brought in Meghan Sargent and allowed Pearson to score on an errant throw from Anna Maria first baseman Cara Hennessey. Collier closed out the game by striking out the side in the top of the fifth to give Endicott the 9-0 win.

Endicott improves to 13-5 overall and 6-2 in the CCC. The Gulls return to action tomorrow when they take on the New England College Pilgrims in a CCC double-header in Beverly with the first pitch scheduled for 3:00 pm.
