Men’s Volleyball Earns Hard-Fought Victory Over SUNY Poly, 3-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's volleyball team defeated SUNY Poly, 3-1, by scores of 27-29, 25-17, 25-20, and 26-24 in conference action on Sunday evening at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Mason Mallory (Playa del Rey, Calif.) shined for the Gulls with 14 kills on 24 swings (.417).

The Gulls also saw Rafa Robert (San Juan, Puerto Rico) post a match-high 18 kills, while Nikolas Kasprzak (Windham, N.H.) powered home eight kills (.333) and registered a team-high four block assists.

Along with those standout performances, Spencer Capps (Lake Bluff, Ill.) filled the stat sheet with six kills, a match-high/career-high eight service aces, eight digs, and two block assists.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Today's match featured 19 ties and five lead changes (S1: 9-2 | S2: 3-2 | S3: 4-0 | S4: 3-1).
  • Capps tied the program record for most service aces in a four-set match (tied seventh all-time in any match).
  • Gavin Emenaker (Newton, Mass.) compiled a match-high 43 assists (third 40-plus assist match this season).
  • The Gulls are 4-0 all-time against SUNY Poly (three sweeps).
  • Vance Mallory (Playa del Rey, Calif.) notched his second 10-dig match this season.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (15-5, 5-0 NECC) travels to MIT on Wednesday, March 30 at 6 PM. SUNY Poly (9-15, 2-3 NECC) travels to Wells next Wednesday at 7 PM.
