Men’s Volleyball Tops Northern Vermont-Johnson In NECC Opener, 3-0

JOHNSON, Vt. – The Endicott men's volleyball team defeated Northern Vermont-Johnson, 3-0, by scores of 25-10, 26-24, and 25-18 in conference action on Saturday evening at Carter Gymnasium.

Mason Mallory (Playa del Rey, Calif.) led the Gulls with six kills on seven swings (.857), one service ace, and five digs.

Will Perry (San Mateo, Calif.) also chipped in with four kills, while Justin McCartney (Lake Bluff, Ill.) facilitated the attack via a match-high 25 assists.

Defensively, Vance Mallory (Playa del Rey, Calif.) tied for the match-high in digs with eight and Brian Wightman (Las Vegas, Nev.) led all back row student-athletes with a match-high 16 service receptions (.941, 1 error).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 4-0 all-time against NVU-Johnson (zero sets dropped).
  • Today's match featured eight ties and two lead changes (S1: 0-0 | S2: 6-2 | S3: 2-0).
  • M. Mallory notched all six of his kills in set one.
  • Wightman had three of his four digs correlate to kills and eight of his 17 receptions lead to putaways (.471).

Endicott (9-4, 1-0 NECC) travels to Sage tomorrow at 12 PM. NVU-Johnson (3-10) hosts Nichols tomorrow at 3 PM.
